Liquor Licences for events
If you are holding an event where alcohol will be sold or consumed, then you may require a special licence. We encourage you to contact our Event Facilitation team in the first instance to discuss the event’s feasibility and to offer advice and guidance on the next steps to take.
Please note that special licence applications must be lodged a minimum of 20 workings days before the date of your event. For larger events, we recommend lodging your application 3 to 6 months in advance to ensure that your special licence is approved in time.
The period commencing on 20 December 2016 and ending with 15 January 2017 is recognised as a non-working day period for all alcohol licensing applications. This means that if you are applying for a special licence for an event being held between 20 December 2016 and 5 February 2017 (inclusive), you will need to lodge your application no later than Monday 14 November 2016.
