Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ)

What is a Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ)?

It is a prescribed qualification referred to in the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and Sale and Supply of Alcohol that demonstrates you have had recent and relevant training.

Do I need a Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ)?

  • Yes – all applicants for a managers certificate are now required to hold an LCQ certificate 

From 18 December 2013, the committee will not be able to issue or renew a manager’s certificate unless the applicant supplies a copy of their LCQ and a copy of their LCQ Bridging Test Certificate.

What is an LCQ Bridging Test Certificate?

The LCQ Bridging Test Certificate works in conjunction with the LCQ to demonstrate knowledge of the current Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act.

Where do I get a LCQ Bridging Test Certificate?

The Bridging Test can be completed online and free of charge and contains 20 multi-choice question around the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.  Once you have successfully completed the Bridging test, you will be able to print a digital pdf of the LCQ Bridging Test certificate.
